2009 Christmas Card Contest

  1. ELIGIBILITY: Brad Duguid MPP’s Christmas Card Design Contest (“The Contest”) is open to anyone
    aged 10 and under who reside in the riding of Scarborough Centre, Ontario, Canada as of the end date
    of the Contest. Scarborough Centre is loosely bounded by HWY 401 in the north, Bellamy Road North in the east, Victoria Park Avenue in the west and hydro transmission lines and Eglinton Avenue East in the south.
  2. ORGANIZER: The Contest is organized by Brad Duguid, MPP’s Constituency Office (“Organizer”).
  3. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s full and
    unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Organizer,
    which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth
    herein. The Organizer reserves the right to terminate this Contest at any time. There will be no
    extensions.
  4. CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest Period for Brad Duguid MPP’s Christmas Card Design Contest 2009; ends on September 15, 2009, 12 noon.

  5. SUBMISSION: During the Contest Period, submissions are accepted. You may enter as many
    submissions as you wish. However, each Contest winner will only be eligible to receive one (1) Prize in
    relation to the Contest.

    Contest Submissions must have full name, address and age clearly printed on the back of the
    submission. Incomplete or inaccurate entries will be voided.

    By submitting your Submission, you agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer and its officers,
    directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of your
    Submission or your participation in any phase of this Contest.

    Any Submissions received may be used by the Organizer for promotional purposes including, but not
    limited to, inclusion in any printed and electronic media without prior consent from entrants and
    without any further consideration in the form of any payment or royalties. A photo of the contest
    winner and/or winners will be included in Brad Duguid, MPP’s newsletter and website.

    All non-voided submissions will be judged and rated by the Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts.
    The top three (3) submissions that receive the highest rating will receive prize(s) and the top submission
    will be reproduced as the cover image of Brad Duguid, MPP’s 2009 Christmas Card.

    In the event of a tie or any other dispute, the Organizer will decide the winner. Decisions of the
    Organizer are final. Winning Submission will be announced on the Website.

  6. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POTENTIAL WINNER: Potential Winners will be notified if his/her Submission has been selected as the winning Submission. All winners must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. If a Potential Winner cannot be contacted within three (3) business days after the first attempt to contact him/her, the
    Submission with the next highest rating will be deemed the next Potential Winner.

  7. PRIZES: The prizes will be distributed in the form of gift prizes.
  8. RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Organizer from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of Submissions; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Organizer' liability will be solely limited to the cost of entering and participating in the
    Contest, and in no event shall the Organizer be liable for legal fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any
    damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.

  9. EXCULSIONS: Brad Duguid, MPP; his staff; all Brad Duguid, MPP’s Christmas Card Design Contest 2009 judges; and their immediate family members are excluded from the contest.

  10. ONLY HAND DRAWN: All entries must be drawn by hand. Mechanically assisted drawings will not be accepted.
